LE GÉNIE DES LIEUX: CORNEILLE, FLAUBERT ET MAETERLINCK – Exhibition co-organized by the AML at the Musée Flaubert and the history of medicine in Rouen, from 30 November 2024 to 2 June 2025. Commissioners: Jean-Baptiste Chantoiseau and Laurence Boudart.
Corneille in the 17th century, Flaubert in the 19th and Maeterlinck in the 19th and 20th centuries embody three different ways of building a universal literary heritage from Norman soil. What did the birthplace of the great Corneille look like? Where did Flaubert write Madame Bovary? In what environment did they get inspiration? What was the theatrical and poetic imagination of Maurice Maeterlinck?
The exhibition offers a glimpse into the daily lives of these authors through models, costumes, personal objects and other facts.
